Richard A. Smialek, D.O., F.A.C.O.S. Medical Director of Central Ohio Skin Laser Center, Inc., has been in the private practice of plastic surgery since 1981 and in the Columbus area since 1985. In October 1990, he founded central Ohio’s first Candela laser center for the treatment of blood vessel birthmarks in children.

Since then he has expanded the center’s practice introducing the area’s first state-of-the-art lasers for the treatment of congenital pigmented lesions, tattoo removal, skin resurfacing for wrinkles, hair removal, facial peels, spider vein removal, psoriasis treatment, collagen stimulation, and acne cyst ablation.

Additionally, he introducted to Centeral Ohio, microdermabrasion skin peels utilizing the DermMaster System.
